Here’s what we discussed:

NoSQL and SQL open-source databases theoretically eliminate vendor lock, but many companies have struggled to see all the promised benefits. Operational, cost and staffing challenges are slowing progress. Some companies are using a combination of automated multi-cloud deployment tools and on-demand experts to handle time-consuming, resource-intensive tasks so they can focus on app development.

In this roundtable discussion over dinner, we discussed what’s working, what isn’t, and what technologies are actually taking successful companies out of reactive mode so they can focus on building things. We finished the session with a live demo of an automated deployment of a Cassandra, Postgres, Kafka, OpenSearch, or Redis cluster.
