Here’s what we discussed:

Modern enterprises are facing complex macroeconomic headwinds, forcing them to be more innovative & economic in their planning and decision-making. They’re faced with challenges such as increasing security threats, diminished access to talent, a renewed focus on privacy and security, and higher customer expectations.

In the modern enterprise, through a shift towards digital channels and dynamic work, user identities and credentials are intertwined with the devices we use, the cloud services we access, and the data that flows across them.

This point of intersection is where enterprise risk is amassing. Attackers are increasingly adept at exploiting stolen user identities to bypass legacy defenses, masquerading as legitimate employees while moving laterally across the infrastructure to execute attacks. The current economic climate highlights a new paradigm shift; one where Identity – both internal and external to the business – are assets that should be recorded on the balance sheet as a major point of leverage for any business.

Zero Trust security strategies hold tremendous promise for securing infrastructure and data against this reality. In addition, they help enterprises turn Identity into an asset that can be leveraged for growth, productivity, and improved user experience. However, Zero Trust is also fundamentally dynamic and requires a modern approach to security to be effective.

In this roundtable, we discussed modern approaches and learned how to develop a defense-in-depth strategy to ensure all assets have whole-of-business identity-based perimeters that are monitored for user behaviors and device attributes, ensuring that least-privileged access to enterprise resources is continually enforced.
