This year Australia has seen significant developments in climate legislation and policy reform. In response, Australian companies need to be navigating changes to the Emissions Reduction Safeguard Mechanism and incorporating sustainability governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics and targets deep within their strategy and operations.

Data underpins success in adaptation and progress against these ambitions. ESG reporting however, continues to be manual, labour intensive and prone to errors. According to Boston Consulting Group, 86% of organizations are still recording ESG data manually in spreadsheets with an estimated 25% to 30% error rate in emissions measurements.

In this executive roundtable, we discussed how companies are leveraging digital technologies and solutions built on AWS to measure, monitor, and manage their sustainability data. Participants discovered how this enables companies to meaningfully demonstrate progress, unlock opportunities to innovate and create competitive advantage.
